Property

A well-appointed 3 bedroom house perched above the Idrijca river, arguably the best fishing river in the Soča Valley. Renovated to a high standard in a rustic style, the house is run as a Bed & Breakfast for fishermen and hunters. It is well proportioned and comfortable, with mottled effect walls, shutters, original doors and plenty of character. On the ground floor is a lovely rustic ceramic floor with a modern stylish kitchen and dining area. Next to this is a double aspect lounge with comfortable sofas, TV and DVDs, lots of sunlight and views of the river and down the valley. Also on this floor is a WC and large utility room with washing machine  - perfect for storing all that fishing gear!

Bedrooms

On the first floor are three well-appointed bedrooms and two bathrooms. All beds and bathrooms are new for summer 2009. The master bedroom has three twin beds and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has three twin beds, the third has two twin beds and these rooms share a bathroom. The bathrooms are modern and luxurious with mosaic tiles and large showers.

The staff live on the top floor and prepare hot breakfasts and an optional packed lunch. A traditional Slovene dinner is served at the local restaurant which is just 0.5km around the corner. Fishing permits can be purchased at the Angling Club in Tolmin where all information about fishing in the Soča, guides and so on can be found. If preferred, the house can be rented exclusively on a self-catered basis.

Garden

Outside there are two small balconies, one off the ground floor and one off the first floor. There is also a grassed area with a charming well and an old covered barn for housing bicycles and motorbikes. In the nearby village of Slap ob Idrijci, there is another restaurant, supermarket and post office. The house is south facing so you can enjoy watching the sunsets and relaxing outside listening to the sound of the river.

Prices

The price per night for Bed & Breakfast is 30 euros per person per night including breakfast or 35 euros including breakfast and a packed lunch. Otherwise, the price for exclusive use of the house per week is below. The house can sleep a maximum of 10 people.
